Microsoft will invest $3 billion in India, will give AI training to 1 crore people
Satya Nadella: Microsoft's Advantage India program has now set a target of training 2 crore Indians in AI skills by 2030. Under this initiative, Microsoft has trained 24 lakh Indians. Of these, 65 percent were women and 74 percent were from small towns. This initiative is preparing the youth of India for employment in the field of AI.

Microsoft will invest three billion dollars (about Rs 25,700 crore) in two years to expand its cloud computing and artificial intelligence capabilities in India. Company Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella says that the American tech company will also train one crore people in AI in India by 2030.
Nadella said that the proposed three billion dollar investment will be the largest investment made by the company so far. Nadella has also met PM Narendra Modi during his visit to India.
Microsoft provides its cloud computing services under Azure. The company has more than 60 Azure regions, including more than 300 data centers. Nadella last visited India in February 2024 and then he said that the company would provide AI skills opportunities to 20 lakh people in the country by 2025. Its aim was mainly to train individuals from small towns and rural areas.
Nadella said, 'India is moving rapidly in AI innovation. This is creating new opportunities across the country. Today we are announcing investments in infrastructure and skills, which reaffirms our commitment to make India AI-first and will help ensure that people and organizations across the country benefit widely. '
