Kolkata Doctor Murder Case: The Supreme Court will hear today the case of heinous crime committed against a trainee doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra will hear the case on September 9, which was initiated by the apex court itself. CBI will submit its status report before the court today regarding this case.
The Supreme Court will hear the murder-rape case of a female doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, on Monday. A Bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra will hear the case which was taken as suo moto by the apex court. CBI will present its status report on this case before the court today.
The Centre recently filed an application in the top court and contended therein that the Bengal government is not cooperating with the CISF, which is providing security in the hospital. The Union home ministry has urged in its application that the state authorities be directed to extend full cooperation to the CISF.
The Supreme Court, while hearing the Kolkata brutality case on August 22, had rebuked the Kolkata Police for the delay in registering the unnatural death of the doctor. The court indulged in an emotional appeal to the protesting doctors to return to work and cited that justice and medicine could not be stopped. Besides this, the court said it is issuing all necessary directions to ensure that their safest security is guaranteed.
