Skoda Auto India sold around 49,000 vehicles last year.
Klaus Zellmer, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of car manufacturer Skoda, has described the Indian market as the most important market for the company outside Europe. He has said that Skoda is preparing to bring new models to India. The company is expanding its India sales network. Along with this, Zellmer has also made an important announcement. He has said that the company is also considering a partnership in India to expand its business.
The Volkswagen Group is currently selling models such as the Kushaq and Slavia in India. The company plans to launch an all-new compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) early next year, which could nearly double its market share. Skoda Auto India sold approximately 49,000 vehicles last year.
India is the world's third-largest passenger vehicle market. The previous fiscal year (2023-24) saw the sale of 42 lakh vehicles in India. Skoda, a Volkswagen Group company, is also planning to introduce electric vehicles in India. Skoda Auto Global Chief Executive Officer Klaus Zellmer stated here that the automaker is prepared to learn and be completely customer-centric, as India is the brand's most important market after Europe.
He said, "India is our most important adventure destination outside Europe because this is where we have to move forward." He said India is key to Skoda Auto's growth strategy as the company brings its widest and most innovative product portfolio ever to its customers.
