Jharsuguda to Become Aluminium Hub as Vedanta Aluminium Partners With Industry Players

India's largest aluminum producer, Vedanta Aluminum, has entered into an agreement with companies such as Singhal Steel & Power Private Limited and Scott-L Metcon Private Limited (Sister Company of Scottish Chemical Industries and UL Industries) to construct downstream aluminum facilities at Vedanta Aluminum Park in Jharsuguda, Odisha.
The signing ceremony of the agreement took place in Bhubaneswar and included several top-ranking Odisha government officials like the Minister of State for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Sampad Chandra Swain and the Additional Chief Secretary of the Industry Department, Hemant Sharma. Its objective is to promote value addition, support the MSME sector, and strengthen Odisha as a global aluminum hub. This initiative is expected to attract new investments worth over ₹500 crore and generate approximately 1,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of State for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, said, "This initiative further strengthens Odisha as a major industrial hub. The Vedanta Aluminum Park will boost investment, create large-scale employment opportunities, and strengthen the state's manufacturing capacity."
