Despite the requirement of skilled employees, 80% of the country's employers are struggling to find skilled employees. The trend has been continuing since 2022 and will remain above the global average of 74% by 2024. "Indian employers will be cautious while recruiting skilled employees during the first quarter of 2025, as the efforts for recruitment are likely to get hampered due to lack of talent," said the ManpowerGroup Talent Shortage Survey.

The survey indicates that no sector has been left untouched by the scarcity of talented workers, and such shortage remains the main problem for the global job market. Industries like IT, energy, and utilities are particularly under pressure while demand for special skilled jobs related to data and IT continues to rise. It further added that only 22 percent of the employers are in favor of increasing the intake of temporary staff. The highest talent shortage, 85%, is faced by South India.

Sandeep Gulati, Managing Director, ManpowerGroup India, and Middle East, said, "The sustained talent shortage and as many as 80% of organizations struggling to fill the positions by 2025 underline the urgent need for collective action." The survey is based on analysis of data collated from over 3,000 employers across four regions in the country.
