LPG Crisis: Indian Oil Corporation stated that the supply of LPG in the country is completely normal, with approximately 2.8 million cylinders being distributed daily. The company has taken strict action against black marketing and urged people to ignore rumors and avoid panic booking.

Though there are issues in the international energy market, there is no shortage of LPG in the country. According to Indian Oil Corporation, there is no problem with the supply of LPG to the homes of the citizens.

According to the company, approximately 2.8 million LPG cylinders are currently being delivered daily, which is equal to the normal level before the recent global tensions. Indian Oil stated that LPG supply is being given top priority to ensure there is no shortage across the country.

The company requests customers to make online reservations for LPG cylinders through SMS and IVRS services. Almost 87% of all reservations are made via these modes. A DAC OTP service has also been introduced.

Indian Oil also reported that complaints of black marketing and hoarding by some LPG distributors have been reported. To address this, more than 7,500 inspections have been conducted, resulting in action against 141 distributors and five suspended.

The company, in collaboration with other oil marketing companies and state governments, has conducted a campaign that has involved approximately 68,000 raids, registered 855 FIRs, and seized over 48,000 cylinders.

Indian Oil has appealed to consumers to ignore any rumors and avoid panic booking or stockpiling. The company assured that there is no shortage of LPG in the country and the supply will remain completely smooth.
