SHARP can set up India's first display fab facility, the company is looking for 1000 acres of land
Sharp is also looking for land of more than 1000 acres in many parts of the country to set up the unit. Currently, display fabs are not manufactured in India and India completely imports display fabs. Display fabs are used in television monitors and other such devices.
After Micron, now Japan's big tech company Sharp, involved in semiconductor manufacturing, can invest in India. Recently, a meeting was held between Sharp officials along with officials of the Ministry of Electronics and IT of the Government of India regarding this investment.
Sharp is also looking for land of more than 1000 acres in many parts of the country to set up the unit. According to ministry sources, Sharp is planning to set up a display fab manufacturing unit in India and this could be Sharp's largest unit outside Japan. Sharp will build cutting-edge display fabs in India.

According to sources, considering the level of units Sharp wants to set up in India, an investment of $3-6 billion can be expected. Sharp plans to set up a unit in India to manufacture its Series-10 display fab, the latest version of the display fab.
