BSF jawan has not been released even after 90 hours and three meetings, who crossed the border by mistake
BSF: BSF has demanded a field commander level meeting with Pakistani Rangers. Officials say that this meeting can be held soon. BSF DG Daljit Chaudhary has also given detailed information about this matter to the Home Ministry.

Over 90 hours have lapsed, and three meetings have been conducted at the military level, but the BSF jawan who accidentally crossed the border hasn't returned so far. There have been three rounds of meetings held between BSF and Pakistani Rangers to retrieve the BSF jawan who strayed into the other side, but the jawan hasn't been released as of yet. Pakistani Rangers have informed that they have no information regarding the jawan.
Notably, a BSF jawan, whose name was Purnam Kumar Shaw, crossed the international border of Firozpur, Punjab, by mistake. Pakistani Rangers have taken him into detention. The BSF jawan was wearing an army uniform as well and had with him a service rifle too. Officials claim that the jawan happened to be on duty near the border, where he crossed the line accidentally and took rest under a tree, from where Pakistani Rangers allegedly detained him. Attempts are being made to recover the jawan.
Now the BSF has demanded a field commander-level meeting with the Pakistani Rangers. Officials say that this meeting can take place soon. BSF DG Daljit Chaudhary has also given detailed information about this matter to the Home Ministry. The family of the BSF jawan lives in West Bengal. The jawan's father has expressed concern about the safety of his son and has appealed to the government for the safe return of his son. It is worth noting that this entire incident has happened at a time when tensions between India and Pakistan are at their peak. On April 22, terrorists killed 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After which, India also took a tough stand and postponed the Indus Water Treaty.
