Bangladesh cricket team's concern increased, the board will decide on Mustafizur Rahman's leave
Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has applied to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for leave in December to be with his pregnant wife.
The fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh is not expected to play in the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies. The reason behind this is he has requested a leave from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in December to spend time with his pregnant wife. A board official confirmed this to Cricbuzz and said that they will take a final decision on this after talking to him after he returns from the UAE after the ongoing three-match ODI series.
The official said, "It is true that he (Mustafizur) had asked for leave during the white-ball series against the West Indies, but we have not taken any decision yet as we still have time. Let him come and we can talk on the matter and see if he can be available for one format (ODI, T20)."
"At the same time we also have to consider that it is a family issue and it is the top priority for everyone," he added. Mustafizur is expected to return to Dhaka on November 13 after the ODI series against Afghanistan, which will conclude with the series-concluding match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on November 11.
While most of the members of Bangladesh's Test squad will leave for the West Indies tour from Dubai, other players like Mominul Haque and Taijul Islam will soon leave for Dubai to join with the team. Mustafizur has been away from Test cricket and only plays ODIs and T20s. The first Test of the West Indies tour starts on November 22, while the second starts on November 30. In ODI series, it starts on December 8, while T20 Series will start on December 16.
