Bajaj Pulsar F250 discontinued again in India, last update was received seven months ago
Bajaj Pulsar F250: Bajaj Pulsar F250 has been discontinued for the second time in the Indian market. Bajaj Auto has decided to discontinue its quarter-liter semi-faired motorcycle seven months after its most recent update.
The Bajaj Pulsar F250 has been discontinued once again in the Indian market. Seven months after its most recent update, Bajaj Auto seems to have finally pulled the plug on its quarter-liter semi-faired motorcycle. The last update brought minor changes and improved the overall value proposition of the bike with some new inclusions. Also, the motorcycle has been removed from the brand's website, and dealers have stopped taking bookings for the same as well. On the other hand, the Pulsar N250 streetfighter continues to remain on sale.
The Bajaj Pulsar F250 was supposed to be the successor to the hugely popular Pulsar F220. Though it has been in the market for almost two decades now, it remained a strong seller for the Pune-based manufacturer. Coming to sales, the Pulsar F250 struggled since the beginning and never reached the success that the Pulsar F220 received in its starting days.
On paper, both motorcycles offer a stylish exterior, a powerful engine, and the right mix of features. The Pulsar F250 is arguably better than the F220 in every aspect offering better refinement, build quality, and even more features. However, the Pulsar F220 is an emotional buy for the common man, overriding other parameters. Notably, the F220 remains an exciting motorcycle to ride despite its age.
The last update for the Bajaj Pulsar F250 came in May last year. In which the bike has new body graphics, an updated digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, three ABS modes - road, rain, and off-road - and traction control, and a wider 140-section rear tire. The special thing is that Bajaj did not offer USD front forks on the F250 despite upgrading to the Pulsar N250 last year and opted to offer telescopic forks instead.
The Bajaj Pulsar F250 is powered by a 249.07 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled motor. This engine generates 24 bhp of power at 8,750 rpm and 21.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike uses telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the rear. While for braking, discs have been used on both wheels with dual-channel ABS. Apart from the telescopic forks, the rest of the setup is identical to what is available on the Pulsar N250. It promises a more upright riding posture.
Although the Pulsar F250 has been discontinued in India, the motorbike will be exported, considering demand arising in other markets. Enthusiasts of the brand would know that none of the motorcycles in the Company's portfolio have actually been discontinued (the Discover and V15 being exceptions). So, the Pulsar F250 could make a comeback if the tide changes in the future and there is a demand for semi-faired motorcycles.
