Recently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma apologized to Deepak Kapoor, who lives in Sector 12, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, for thanking him after an emotional incident occurred on an overseas flight. Chief Minister Sarma himself reported this on public platforms.

The incident occurred on an Emirates flight from Delhi to Dubai when Deepak Kapoor, who was another passenger, handed over a charging cable to Chief Minister Sarma. When Kapoor exited at Dubai and Chief Minister Sarma happened to be sleeping at that point of time, he was unable to retrieve his items. Upon Chief Minister Sarma's arrival at Amsterdam, he discovered that the charger was in his possession and felt extremely sorry for this glaring oversight.

I am pleased to inform you that following my appeal, Assam Police is engaged in the task of identifying the gentleman and obtaining his contact details, Chief Minister Sarma wrote in a post on social media.

According to the Chief Minister, Assam Police showed promptness and traced Kapoor, following which Chief Minister Sarma personally contacted him. Sarma said, I spoke to Deepak Kapoor, who was my co-passenger on the Dubai flight. I apologized to him for keeping the mobile charger given by him without any intention. I assured him that I would send the charger to his Noida residence.

He very politely said that it was not required. The entire incident is being widely appreciated on social media, where people are praising the Chief Minister's humility and his commitment to return the borrowed item and also the promptness of the Assam Police.
