Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hussain has made a comeback to competitive cricket after receiving a green signal from the International Cricket Council (ICC) after a two-year ban. The 33-year-old all-rounder was banned for two years along with a six-month suspension by the ICC in September 2023 for breaching the ICC's Anti-Corruption Code. It is being informed that Hussain has met all requirements of the ban and has become eligible to resume his professional cricket career.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stated in their official release that according to the ban terms, Nasir Hussain has successfully met all the requirements including attending the compulsory anti-corruption course.

The way has been cleared for Nasir to return to official cricket from 7 April 2025. Nasir has returned to competitive cricket with the Dhaka Premier League. He played for Rupganj Tigers against Gazi Group Cricketers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Nasir Hussain has played a total of 115 international matches in all three formats for Bangladesh between 2011 and 2018. Nasir has scored 1044 runs in 32 innings of 19 Tests at an average of 34 and has taken 8 wickets at an average of 55 in bowling.

At the same time, he has scored 1281 runs in 52 innings of 65 ODIs at an average of 29.11 and taken 24 wickets in bowling at an average of 41.16. While he has scored 370 runs in 24 innings of 31 T20Is at an average of 18.50 and taken 7 wickets in bowling at an average of 37.42.
