Agniveers will get reservation in Brahmos Aerospace, the first private company to do so
Agniveer: Brahmos Aerospace will provide special job reservations for the newly recruited Agniveers under the Agneepath scheme of the Indian Armed Forces. This reservation will be given to those former Agniveers who have served in the army for four years.
A joint venture of India and Russia, Brahmos Aerospace Private Limited has announced a reservation of jobs in the company for Agniveers. It has spoken of 15 percent reservation in technical entries and 50 percent reservation in vacancies in administrative and security roles. With this, Brahmos Aerospace has become the first private company to provide job reservations to Agniveers.
Brahmos Aerospace will give special job reservations for the newly recruited Agniveers under the Agneepath scheme of the Indian Armed Forces. For this, the reservation would be provided to those ex-Agniveers who have served in the army for four years. BrahMos Aerospace will recruit Agniveers for at least 15 percent of technical and general administration vacancies in different areas.
Not only this, the company will ensure at least 50 percent of the vacancies for security and administrative works outsourced at its different centers across the country are filled by Agniveers. Apart from this, BrahMos Aerospace plans to recruit Agniveers by at least 15% of the vacancies through third-party contract staffing.
BrahMos Aerospace has become the first leading company in the defense sector to announce the reservation of vacancies for Agniveers in various fields. An order issued by the company said that at least 15 percent of the vacancies in technical and general administration will be reserved for Agniveers.
BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited, an India-Russia joint venture, produces supersonic cruise missiles. Which can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft or land platforms. The BrahMos missile flies at a speed of 2.8 Mach or about three times the speed of sound. The company was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in New Delhi. India has a 70 percent stake, while Russia has a 30 percent stake in the company.
In June 2022, the government launched the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme with the aim of reducing the age limit of the three armies. The Agneepath scheme provides for the recruitment of youth in the age group of 17 to 21 years for four years. In which there is a provision to retain 25 percent for 15 years. Many opposition parties including Congress are constantly opposing this scheme.
