Action taken against those posting anti-national posts, many social media URLs and accounts banned
I-B Ministry: After the Pahalgam terror attack and 'Operation Sindoor', social media URLs and accounts found involved in anti-India activities have been blocked in India under legal provisions.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting informed a parliamentary committee it has blocked some social media URLs and accounts in India, according to the law. The URLs and accounts were operating against national interests following the Pahalgam terror strike and Operation Sindoor.
The ministry stated that it requested OTT platforms, media streaming platforms, and middlemen (social media platforms) to suspend the streaming of Pakistan's web series, films, music, podcasts, and other streaming content.
The ministry provided these details in reply to a query posed recently by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology, chaired by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. The ministry was asked for details about action against social media handles and platforms operating against national interests by the committee.
The ministry said it had received several requests to block content, and these were acted upon under the relevant laws. It had also issued an advisory on the issue. The advisory said that several terrorist attacks in India have been linked to Pakistan-based state and non-state actors.
In the interest of national security, all OTT platforms, media streaming platforms, and intermediaries operating in India are advised to block web series, movies, songs, podcasts, and other streaming media content from Pakistan with immediate effect, whether they are available on a subscription-based model or not.
