Audi has launched the third generation Q5 in India with a new platform and new design. The new Audi Q5 is the first car based on the new premium platform combustion. It now comes with mild-hybrid technology. Along with this, it has been launched with a luxury interior as well as a great exterior. Let's know with which features it has been equipped.
The new Audi Q5 gets an all-new exterior design: the front gets a slightly smaller grille as compared to the outgoing model, flanked by slimmer matrix LED headlights. The front bumper has also been redesigned. The rear section of the new Q5 gets new connected LED tail lamps and dual-tone bumpers.
This new Audi Q5 has a new cabin, which also comprises an Audi MMI Panoramic display. The display comes with an 11.9-inch digital driver display with a 14.5-inch touchscreen and there's even an extra 10.9-inch display for the front seat passenger. Besides all this, there is a new three-spoke flat-bottom and top leather steering wheel.
The engine in the new Audi Q5 would be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol, churning out 204 hp of power and 340 Nm of torque. More so, this gets a front-wheel drive or an optional AWD setup. In addition, a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel, doing duty for 204 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque, is also brought in, and the all-wheel drive is also present. It comes fitted with a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-petrol engine that develops 24 hp of power and 230 Nm of torque. All the engines are mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The new Audi Q5 was launched at 52,300 euros (Rs 48.59 lakh) for the base petrol engine, 57,100 euros (Rs 53.05 lakh) for the diesel powertrain, and 82,900 euros (Rs 77.02 lakh) for the range-topping SQ5. The car will be available for order in Germany by the end of this month. Talking about its launch in India, Audi India has not revealed the timeline for its launch. The previous generation Audi Q5 is priced in India between Rs 65.51 lakh and Rs 72.30 lakh.
