The aircraft carrier battle group, submarines, and sea-based air facilities were immediately deployed by the Indian Navy with a war-ready preparation upon hearing about the Pahalgam attack. This news was given by a top naval official on Sunday.

Director General of Naval Operations (DGNO) Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod said, 'The Navy remained deployed on the front line in the North Arabian Sea and was in a retaliatory mood. We were fully prepared to attack selected targets on the sea and land, including Karachi, at our chosen time.'

Vice Admiral Pramod was addressing a press conference on Operation Sindoor along with his counterparts from the Army and the Air Force. The DGNO said that the Navy conducted several weapon tests in the Arabian Sea within 96 hours of the terror attack and tested and improved strategies and methods at sea. He said, 'The aim was to ensure that our naval personnel, weapons, equipment and platforms are fully prepared to carry out precision strikes on selected targets.'

The DGNO said that the combat aircraft carrier group was deployed in the Arabian Sea after the death of 26 civilians in the terror attack on April 22. The combat aircraft carrier group is a naval fleet, which includes an aircraft carrier and other warships accompanying it. Vice Admiral Pramod said that due to the forward deployment of the Indian Navy, the units of the Pakistani Navy and Air Force had to remain in a defensive posture, which mostly remained inside the ports or very close to their coast.

He said, the Indian Navy monitored the maritime domain without any interruption during the entire period and was fully aware of the location and activities of Pakistani units. The three forces (Army, Air Force and Navy) carried out Operation Sindoor together. This operational dominance of the Indian Navy was also a major reason for Pakistan to request a ceasefire.

On May 7, India attacked terrorist camps, after which Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10, to which India responded strongly. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that now both India and Pakistan have agreed to stop all military actions on land, air, and sea.
