ED raids 18 places in Maharashtra-Kerala, recovering cash and objectionable documents
Mithi River Desilting Scam: ED Mumbai has raided a total of 18 places in Mumbai, Kochi, and Thrissur in the Mithi River Desilting Scam case. The agency has seized several digital devices, objectionable documents, and cash worth Rs 7 lakh from these places. Apart from this, 22 bank accounts, fixed deposits, and one demat account have been frozen.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Mumbai raided 18 locations in Maharashtra and Kerala in connection with the Mithi River Desilting Scam case. During the raid, ED has seized several digital devices, objectionable documents and cash worth Rs 7 lakh. A total of Rs 1.25 crore worth of assets have now been seized/frozen in this case.
ED on Friday raided approximately 18 places in Mumbai, Kochi, and Thrissur, targeting the office and residential premises of individuals linked to the scam. This action was taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) 2002.
The people whose offices and premises have been raided by the ED include BMC engineer Prashant Ramgude, BMC contractor Bhupendra Purohit, Matprop Technical Service Private Limited, Virgo Specialties Private Limited director Jai Joshi, Voder India LLP controller Ketan Kadam, and Ketan Kadam's associates Santino Rocco Morea and Dino Morea.
During the raid, the ED has seized several digital devices, objectionable documents, and cash worth Rs 7 lakh related to the scam. Apart from this, the agency has frozen 22 bank accounts, fixed deposits, and a demat account. So far, assets worth Rs 1.25 crore have been seized or frozen in this case.
