Nitish Reddy Replaces Hardik Pandya; Harshit Rana Retains Place Despite Criticism
Aakash Chopra picks IND vs AUS 1st ODI playing XI: The first ODI of the three-match series between India and Australia will be played in Perth on October 19th. Ahead of this match, former Indian opener and commentator Aakash Chopra has selected India's playing XI.
After defeating the West Indies, the Indian team is now preparing for its tour of Australia. The tour will start with a three-match ODI series on the 19th of October. India has dispatched a 15-member cricket team to Australia for this series. Experienced players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be returning from their long break in this series, while Shreyas Iyer, who was ignored for Tests and T20 Internationals, will also be returning. The BCCI selectors have named Shubman Gill as the team captain in Rohit Sharma's place. All eyes are currently on which XI Gill will play for the opening match. Former India opener and commentator Aakash Chopra, meanwhile, has picked India's playing XI for the first ODI against Australia in Perth.
Aakash Chopra has selected Rohit Sharma and captain Shubman Gill as openers, leaving Yashasvi Jaiswal out. He then places Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer at number three and four, respectively. KL Rahul has been selected at number five, and Nitish Kumar Reddy at number six, replacing the injured Hardik Pandya.
He has also included two spin all-rounders, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar, in the playing XI. According to Chopra, Kuldeep Yadav will not be able to make the final XI. He has subsequently included three fast bowlers: Harshit Rana, Mohammed Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh. Thus, along with Kuldeep, Prasidh Krishna, Dhruv Jurel, and Yashasvi Jaiswal will be benched.

It's worth noting that Harshit Rana recently faced a lot of criticism for his selection in all three formats, to which Gautam Gambhir responded. Chopra said that the 23-year-old should not be trolled for his inclusion in the playing XI.
