Army to Boost Border Security With Indigenous Counter-Drone Technology
Indian Army: In response to changing warfare technologies, the Indian Army will receive 12 Man-Portable Counter-Drone Systems. This system will detect enemy drones up to five kilometers and block their signals. Axiscades has received the order. Its portable nature makes it easy to deploy in any area.
Against the backdrop of emerging warfare technologies and contemporary aerial threats, India's Army is currently turning its attention to drone technology. One such effort under this is the forthcoming delivery of the Man-Portable Counter-Drone System (MPCDS) to the Army. The system can identify enemy drones and jam their signals, keeping troops on the ground safe.
Axiscades has received a new order from the Indian Army to supply 12 MPCDS drones. The company announced this on Monday. Earlier this month, Axiscades subsidiary Mistral Solutions received a ₹150 crore order from the DRDO to manufacture 10 electronic control units for the upgrade of Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft.
The MPCDS can detect enemy drones up to five kilometers and block drone signals across a wide frequency range. This system provides reliable protection for ground troops against unmanned aerial attacks.

Axiscades' President of Defense, Sharad Chandra Babu, said that this order reflects the Indian Army's confidence in next-generation indigenous counter-drone technologies. This step is crucial for enhancing the Army's security and technological capabilities.
The mobile and portable nature of the MPCDS enables it to be deployed immediately to any region. This technology will play a vital role in securing the troops in border regions and combat zones.
The Indian Army is also enhancing its counter-air capability through this technology. In contemporary combat scenarios, this system will make it possible for soldiers to detect and neutralize threats in real time.
