BCCI has selected a whopping list of 30 potential candidates to represent India at the Asian Games which will take place at Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The main shockers include T20 skipper Suryakumar Yadav and fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, both of whom have been overlooked by the selectors for the Asian Games team.

Suryakumar Yadav has definitely missed the train for Asian Games since the 15-member final squad will surely be picked from the list of 30 players provided by BCCI to the organizing committee.

However, this list includes 13 key players from the T20 World Cup-winning team, including prominent names like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh, and Ishan Kishan. Consequently, the Indian team will take the field under a new captain to defend its gold medal. The team also includes Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

There is a lot of buzz surrounding 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who wreaked havoc with his batting in the IPL. By including him in the probables, the BCCI has given a clear indication that he could soon be seen in the senior Indian jersey. India will be touring Ireland, England, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka before the Asian Games. It's possible Vaibhav could get a chance to debut before the Asian Games.

One decision is that head coach Gautam Gambhir will not travel to Japan with the team for this tournament. In fact, during the Asian Games, which will be held from September 24th to October 3rd, the Indian team will play a three-match ODI series against the West Indies at home, where Gambhir will be present with Shubman Gill's team. In this scenario, VVS Laxman could be appointed head coach for the Asian Games.

These are the 30 probable players: Ishan Kishan, Varun Chakravarthy, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Abhishek Sharma, Anukul Roy, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, Ayushman Badoni, Dhruv Jurel, Hardik Pandya, Harsh Dubey, Harshit Rana, Jasprit Bumrah, Khaleel Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Reddy, Prasidh Krishna, Ravi Bishnoi, Rinku Singh, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shivam Dubey, Tilak Varma, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Vipraj Nigam, Washington Sundar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Yash Thakur.
