In case you are looking forward to traveling to Kedarnath and Badrinath, ensure that you book your flight through the official site. Avoid online bookings that come from anonymous sources on the internet since they are scams.
One of the cases includes a young lady from Thane who lost Rs. 54,000 after she booked her flights to the places on the internet. According to PTI, a 34-year-old Thane resident said in her police complaint that she was recently looking for air travel to Kedarnath.
She was offered a service for a ride through an Instagram account. The moment she made the call, she was asked to pay 50 percent of the total airfare amount in advance.
The woman then transferred ₹54,000 to an account named "Himalaya Tour" at the Dehradun branch of Bank of Baroda. However, after receiving the money, neither the booking was confirmed, nor was the money refunded. Realizing she had been cheated, she filed a complaint with the Thane police.
The police are now investigating the matter. Meanwhile, according to the Jagran correspondent from Dehradun, till now, heli shuttle service was available only for Kedarnath Dham and Hemkund Sahib in the Chardham, but this year, for the first time, heli shuttle service has been started for Badrinath Dham from Gauchar in Chamoli.
Shuttle service for Kedarnath is available from two helipads each in Guptkashi and Sirsi of Rudraprayag, and four helipads in Phata. Booking of heli tickets has started from April 15. Apart from this, six-seater heli charter services are available for all four Dhams from the Sahastradhara helipad in Dehradun. Heli companies do direct bookings for this.
