Just before the second match was played, Sunil Joshi, the Chairman of the Selection Committee, as well as India's interim spin bowling coach, spoke about India seeing Sooryavanshi only as a batsman these days. They have no plans to make him an all-rounder at this point. It is a long-term goal, while for now, the young player will concentrate on his batting skills.

Is the team management considering using Abhishek, Tilak Varma, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as part-time bowling options? Responding to this, Joshi said, "I believe all three are good bowlers and all-rounders. Abhishek has improved significantly; a coach always wants to see continuous improvement. We also have Tilak Varma, who is essentially an optional bowling option as well."

Speaking about Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Joshi stated that his primary focus right now should be on his batting. "I feel the first priority is for him to focus on his batting. He has been outstanding, and I am happy with his performance. This has been a happy hunting ground for him; he performed well here during the Under-19 World Cup final."

The former Indian spinner also mentioned that Suryavanshi's bowling is part of the long-term plan. "Vaibhav has been very comfortable with his batting. Whenever time permits, I will work with him at the Centre of Excellence. We will certainly see him bowl well; we will definitely focus on that aspect, and soon."
