As the demand for electric vehicles in India is increasing, many manufacturers are expanding their portfolio in this segment. Tata Motors is one of them and reports suggest that they may launch the Tata Safari EV soon. The model has been seen testing for the first time and we’re sharing the details here.
Tata is preparing to launch an electric version of the Safari soon in India. Although the company has not officially announced the launch, recent sightings during testing indicate it could arrive within the next few months.
The test mule was fully camouflaged but is expected to feature connected lights, roof rails, and a shark fin antenna, similar to the ICE-powered Safari. Side steps might also be included. It may also come with a multi-link rear suspension, like the Harrier EV.
Reports indicate the SUV will have two battery options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh, offering a range of around 500 to 600 kilometers per charge. It is expected to be available with both front-wheel and all-wheel drive options.
While Tata has not officially confirmed the Safari EV, it is anticipated to launch around the festive season.
The Safari EV will compete in the mid-size electric SUV segment, directly rivaling the Mahindra XUV900.
