The Suzuki Hayabusa set a new sales record in the Indian market in FY2026. There were sales totaling 543 units, showing an increase of 6% compared to 511 units last year. This sales growth came about after the implementation of GST 2.0 in September, which increased the prices of bikes exceeding 350cc due to the increased taxation.
The most sought-after bike by Suzuki, the Hayabusa, still tops sales in the category of bikes between 1000cc and 1600cc. The Hayabusa makes up 49% of the sales in this category. There were a total of 1,105 bikes that were sold in this category, marking an increase of 22% from last year.
In the last half of the financial year (H1), 324 units of the Hayabusa were sold, but in the second half (H2), sales fell by 32 percent to just 219 units. The main reason for this decline in sales is the change in GST rates, which increased the price of the Hayabusa by ₹1.16 lakh. Now, its ex-showroom price in Delhi is ₹18.06 lakh.
Since Suzuki started selling the Hayabusa in India, a total of 2,943 units of the bike have been sold. Initially, the bike was imported from abroad, but later began being manufactured at Suzuki's Gurugram plant. These sales figures were released by SIAM.
The Hayabusa remained number one in the 1000cc to 1600cc segment for the fourth consecutive year, achieving record sales of 543 units. However, due to price increases caused by GST 2.0, its share in this segment has declined from 57 percent to 49 percent. On the other hand, Kawasaki has overtaken Triumph to take the second spot.
Kawasaki sold a total of 281 units of its Z1100, Ninja 1100SX, and Versys 1100. This is a massive increase of 361 percent compared to 61 units sold last year.
