The record 89 runs stand of Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf helped Pakistan register a dramatic win over England on Sunday night. The innings was played under pressure as Pakistan were close to losing their game with only 154 for 9 against a target of 242 runs on the board at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Even Shaheen Afridi, the captain of the Pakistan team, has complimented them for this innings. He says that he has "never seen an innings like that before in his life."

Shaheen Afridi said, "I've never seen an innings like it in my life, the way Shadab and Haris finished the game with an 89-run partnership. Even from my childhood, I've never seen such an innings in my life. So, as a captain, I'm very happy."

He said, "Look, I knew two left-handers were batting. So I didn't want to harm them at that time. We felt the team had a lot of bowling variation, so we brought in Shadab and then Salman Ali Agha. That's why we brought in Arafat a little late. So, I think he was good, he bowled well.

We just want Razaullah's pace and bouncers." The way they ran out Harry Brook was a crucial wicket for us, and they did a great job for us. Asked if there would be any top-order changes for the next match, he said, "Yes, there could be. We need some runs from the top order. We're struggling. We need an attacking game in the powerplay. I hope we bring that energy back to the team in the next few games."

England captain Harry Brook said, "To be honest, I don't think we did anything wrong with our bowling. We did a great job of restricting them. We almost won the game. Obviously, we may not have put a lot of runs on the board, but the effort the boys put in with the ball and in the field was absolutely tremendous. I couldn't have asked for more."
