The former cricketer and coach for India, Ravi Shastri, believes that Vaibhav Suryavanshi should be made a part of Team India at the earliest possible time. This player has made 738 runs in 19 IPL matches till now and is the top player who has hit maximum sixes in the current year. He has made a total of 486 runs in 12 games in this season only and has a batting average of 40, along with a strike rate of 234 runs, making him eligible for the Orange Cap.

Point to Note: He has been included in the 15-man team that will play the tri-series in Sri Lanka following the completion of IPL, under Tilak Verma. Team India will play a Test and three ODIs against Afghanistan in June. It remains to be seen whether the Indian selectors will give him a chance for this series. Before that, former Team India coach Ravi Shastri has advised the BCCI on which format Vaibhav Suryavanshi should be given the first opportunity in.

Speaking to Star Sports, Ravi Shastri said, "If you want to encourage a young player to join the team as soon as possible, the T20 format is the best format for this, and Suryavanshi is not far behind in any aspect of joining the team."

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has scored two centuries in the IPL. He is also the fastest batsman to hit 100 sixes in the IPL. He is also the fastest Indian batsman to score a century. Suryavanshi achieved this feat in just 35 balls against the Gujarat Titans in 2025. Overall, he is the second-fastest batsman to score a century in IPL history. Chris Gayle achieved this feat in 30 balls in 2013.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has played in two major tournaments for the Under-19 team. He represented Team India in the Under-19 T20 Asia Cup and the Under-19 ODI World Cup last year, where he attracted the attention of international players with his brilliant batting. Now it remains to be seen when Suryavanshi will wear the Team India jersey.
