The company has ambitious plans ahead. According to its estimates, Mahindra will introduce 16 models of new-generation SUVs in various segments by 2031. Out of the 16 SUV models, there will be 10 gas and diesel cars, and six will be electric vehicles. Among the 16 models, some will be completely new products, while others will be upgraded versions of existing models.
From 2024 to 2026, Mahindra introduced five models of ICE SUVs: XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, Bolero Facelift, Bolero Neo Facelift, and XUV 7XO. As for the electrification process, the firm launched BE6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S, and XUV 3XO EV.
Mahindra's next phase of expansion will be primarily based on the NU_IQ platform. This platform was unveiled last year and showcased four concept models: the Vision S, Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT.
This platform has been designed to support both petrol and diesel engines as well as electric options. The first production models based on this new architecture are expected to arrive in 2027.
Mahindra is preparing factories for its new products. The Chakan plant in Maharashtra is being prepared for the new NU_IQ platform. The company's upcoming plant in Nagpur will be the primary hub for the Vision models. Mahindra will also update its existing UVs. The facelift of the Scorpio-N is expected to arrive by the end of the year.
Mahindra is working to further expand vehicle production capacity at its factories. The company aims to add 17,500 additional vehicles per month by the end of the fiscal year. Currently, Mahindra has the capacity to produce 60,000 petrol and diesel vehicles per month. In terms of electric vehicles, the company currently produces approximately 6,000 EVs per month, a figure it hopes to increase to 8,000 units.
