Shanti Educational Initiatives Ltd. reported a positive performance for the first quarter of FY27, with consolidated revenue from operations rising 7.5% year-on-year to ₹16.30 crore. The company also delivered a strong sequential recovery in profitability, highlighting improving business momentum in the education segment.
For Q1 FY27, consolidated net profit stood at ₹2.82 crore, compared with ₹2.90 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. While profit was marginally lower on a year-on-year basis, it increased sharply from ₹0.98 crore reported in Q4 FY26, indicating a significant improvement in quarterly profitability.
According to the company’s financial results, consolidated revenue from operations increased from ₹15.16 crore in Q1 FY26 to ₹16.30 crore in Q1 FY27. EBITDA stood at around ₹4.3 crore, compared with ₹4 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The EBITDA margin remained robust at 26.29% during the quarter, broadly maintaining the 26.52% level recorded in Q1 FY26. The stability in operating margins reflects continued resilience in the company’s core operations despite the changing cost environment.
Profitability Shows Strong Sequential Improvement
One of the key positives from the quarterly performance was the sharp sequential improvement in profitability. Consolidated profit before tax increased to ₹3.77 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹3.64 crore in Q1 FY26, while the company delivered a substantial recovery from the previous quarter.
The improvement is particularly noteworthy as the current quarter’s performance was achieved despite a significant reduction in other income. Other income stood at just ₹2.85 lakh in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹10.71 lakh in Q1 FY26 and ₹1.34 crore in the preceding quarter.
This indicates that the company’s quarterly performance was increasingly supported by its core education-related operations rather than non-operating income.
Revenue Growth Strengthens Business Outlook
The 7.5% year-on-year growth in consolidated revenue points towards continued expansion in the company’s education business. Revenue from operations increased to ₹1,629.86 lakh in Q1 FY27 from ₹1,516.37 lakh in Q1 FY26.
The company has been expanding its presence across the education ecosystem, and the latest quarterly numbers indicate that its business continues to maintain growth momentum.
The company’s consolidated total comprehensive income also increased to ₹3.02 crore during Q1 FY27, compared with ₹2.90 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Strong Contribution From Subsidiary
The company’s consolidated performance also benefited from the contribution of UniformVerse Pvt. Ltd. The subsidiary’s results have become a meaningful component of the group’s consolidated profitability, supporting the company’s broader education and technology-led growth strategy.
The increasing contribution from subsidiaries could provide an additional avenue for revenue diversification and strengthen the company’s consolidated business profile over the longer term.
