On Friday, the Cabinet approved two airport projects—one in Bagdogra, West Bengal, and the other in Bihta, Bihar—with the total cost being Rs 2,962 crore. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed that a new civil enclave has been approved to come up at the airport in Bagdogra at the estimated cost of Rs 1,549 crore. In this project, it will be possible to realize an apron that can arrange 10 parking bays suitable for A-321-type aircraft.

The Cabinet meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi has also approved the new civil enclave at Bihta in Bihar. Its estimated cost is Rs 1,413 crore. The above project backs the construction of an apron that can accommodate 10 parking bays suitable for different types of aircraft.

The Cabinet also gave its nod to the lengthening of the Pune Metro Phase-1 project by 5.46 km. Its cost is Rs 2954.53 crore. The completion date for this project is February 2029. The Cabinet has also given its nod to two corridors of the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase-3 project and Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project.
