According to reports, Meta Ray-Ban Display receives a software upgrade by Meta. The upgraded model comes with enhancements such as improved accessibilities tools, enhanced messaging capability, new recorders, and ease of navigation among others that were mentioned at the time of unveiling the model. Additionally, the company gives developers access to the platform, hence allowing them to develop web apps and extending mobile applications to support the glasses. Further upgrades and new AI functionalities are expected from Meta in the coming months.

Neural handwriting technology has been released officially across the board. As noted in its blog entry, Neural handwriting functionality will be available to all customers through its integration with Neural Band to allow them write messages using finger gestures on Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and the default messaging application on Android and iOS.

The company has also introduced a display recording feature that combines the content displayed on the glasses' display, the user's camera feed, and audio into a single video. The company also stated that turn-by-turn navigation is now available across the US and in major cities like London, Paris, and Rome.

Meta is also expanding 'Live Captions' to WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram Direct. This feature can transcribe what is spoken during face-to-face conversations and phone calls and will also support voice interactions within these apps.

Since launching in September 2025, Glasses have received four software updates. These updates have added widgets for reminders, weather, stocks, and calendar, as well as quick access to Spotify playlists and support for Instagram Reels. These tools are intended to support experiences such as games, transit utilities, cooking guides, shopping lists, and music practice apps.

Developers can now test software tools for Glasses through the Developer Preview Program. Developers can create standalone web apps using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and deploy them to Glasses via a URL. Using the Wearables Device Access Toolkit, developers can extend existing mobile apps to Glasses and add interface elements such as text, images, lists, buttons, and video playback.

Meta also said that a new AI model called 'Muse Spark', designed for wearable devices, is set to roll out on Meta Ray-Ban displays later this summer.
