Kolkata Knight Riders is the only team that hasn’t won a game in the 2026 IPL season. In an upcoming match on Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders will be looking to get their first win of the season when they play against the formidable Rajasthan Royals at their home ground, Eden Gardens.

Across the head-to-head record for IPL encounters, KKR and Rajasthan Royals have faced each other 32 times in the past. Out of the total number of meetings, KKR have won 16 matches, while Rajasthan Royals have won 14 matches. Two games have ended in draws.

Meanwhile, KKR has been weak in every aspect of the game this season, be it batting, bowling, fielding, and captaincy. When batsmen score runs, their bowlers become vulnerable. Selecting the right players in the playing eleven and having them bat or bowl in the correct order has also been a challenge for KKR. Except for captain Rahane's opening position, no player's batting order is fixed, a disadvantage KKR is facing.

No batsman or bowler has been able to perform consistently for KKR throughout the season. KKR's chances of making the playoffs diminish with each defeat. In such a situation, to win against RR, KKR will have to field the right playing eleven and a better strategy.

On the other hand, RR is performing well in IPL 2026. With 8 points from 4 wins in 5 matches, the team is at third place in the points table. RR has performed strongly in all three departments – batting, bowling, and fielding. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel have been excellent for RR in batting, while Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, and Ravi Bishnoi have been sharp in bowling. These six players have strengthened the team.
