Skoda Auto India unveiled the Kodiaq RS at the launch of Kushaq Facelift in India, and the carmaker has now teased its upcoming launch. Skoda Auto India has revealed that bookings for Kodiaq RS will start from June 22 but has not yet announced when the car will launch officially.
Previously, Skoda has revealed that the Kodiaq SUV will hit showrooms in June, but it is not clear whether it launches in June 22. As per reports, only 50 fully assembled units of Kodiaq RS will be imported into the country.
Kodiaq RS employs the same engine found in the normal Kodiaq which is a turbo-petrol engine of displacement 2.0 liters, but it offers an additional output of 60 hp and extra torque of 80 Nm. The car will come with AWD and 7DCT. Such changes will make it one of the fast Skoda vehicles in India.
For safe and efficient braking, the Kodiaq RS will feature larger slotted rotors and dual-piston front brake calipers. The company claims that the Skoda Kodiaq RS can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.
RS stands for Rally Sport, reflecting Skoda Auto's commitment to building powerful and robust vehicles. Skoda's RS models are known worldwide for their power and excellent driving experience. With the Kodiaq RS, this approach is now coming to India's luxury SUV segment, offering a truly all-terrain experience.
