The 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 was played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. LSG lost the match against RR by 40 runs.
The team Lucknow Super Giants has performed miserably at home this season. It is their third consecutive home defeat in this IPL season and it also marks their seventh straight loss in Ekana Cricket Stadium.
With this loss, LSG joins a select group of two other IPL franchises that have suffered this fate in the past. Deccan Chargers had previously lost seven straight home matches in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
Similarly, Pune Warriors India had also suffered seven consecutive defeats at their Pune home ground. Now, the Lucknow Super Giants have also joined this unwanted club.
However, the record for the longest home losing streak is held by the Delhi Capitals (DC). The team lost nine consecutive home matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium between 2013 and 2015, which is considered the longest home losing streak in IPL history.
Losing the toss and opting to bat, the Rajasthan Royals scored 159 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, the Lucknow Super Giants were bowled out for just 119 runs in 18 overs. With this win, Rajasthan has moved from fourth to second in the points table. Meanwhile, after losing their fourth consecutive match, LSG has slipped to ninth.
