The security agencies have launched a high-tech Operation Khazana to destroy the network of the Maoists after having crushed their resistance. The objective of this operation is to locate and recover weapons and money buried underground in dense forests.
Satellites of ISRO, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and other advanced techniques will be employed in this mission. The officials believe that the Maoists must have buried more than Rs 200 crore worth of ammunition and money underground.
Within three months, the security forces recovered arms and money worth above ₹8 crore in this mission. The ISRO's RISAT-2B satellite will help the security forces monitor the dense forests of Bastar and identify suspicious digging, construction of new tracks, and changes in ground temperatures to locate the dumping grounds.
Besides, drones would be used for thermal scans in the air, while the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) would use the deep metal detector for searches on the ground.
Investigations have revealed that Maoists buried approximately 50 percent of their illegal levy (levy) in the form of cash and weapons underground. They used three-layer security to do this. This operation of the security forces clearly indicates that now Maoism will be uprooted forever, not only from above the ground but also from below the ground in Bastar.
