The last year OnePlus launched the OnePlus 15 smartphone with a plethora of updates and new capabilities. Now, rumors say that OnePlus is preparing to launch its next flagship smartphone which is expected to go by the name of OnePlus 16. The company hasn't revealed anything officially yet but rumors related to OnePlus 16 have been appearing from China time and again.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, OnePlus 16 will come equipped with some notable specifications, most of which are in agreement with the previous leaks.
According to the rumors, OnePlus 16 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC under the name SM8975. Qualcomm will be using this latest processor for OnePlus smartphones with 5 GHz speed.
Regarding the display, previous reports suggested that this phone could support a refresh rate of at least 185Hz, but now there are reports that OnePlus may offer refresh rate support of up to 240Hz.
The new report confirms a flat screen from BOE, featuring an ultra-high refresh rate. Furthermore, it's also being said that this panel will use LTPO and LIPO packaging technology to reduce the bezels to approximately 1mm.
The phone is expected to see significant upgrades in terms of photography, with the tipster once again confirming a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. Previous reports suggested a 1/1.x-inch sensor. The rest of the rear camera system could include a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
The OnePlus device is also expected to receive a significant battery upgrade this time around. Digital Chat Station's latest post suggests a battery capacity of up to 9,000mAh. It's also said that the device could feature a "bionic X-axis vibration motor," "symmetrical dual speakers," "complete water resistance," and a "dedicated AI button."
