The Indian branch of Nissan will introduce a brand-new model, Tekton, which is an SUV, on July 9, 2026. This will be Nissan’s second appearance in the midsize segment since the company stopped producing the Kicks three years ago. The Nissan Tekton was caught during tests more than once already.

The vehicle will feature a platform and engine almost identical to those used in the Duster. There will be two versions of the Nissan Tekton on offer:

  • 1.0L turbocharged gasoline engine (100 hp and 166 Nm)
  • 1.3L direct injection turbocharged gasoline engine (163 hp and 280 Nm)

Each version will be equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission; moreover, the second version will also be offered with a 6-speed DCT. It remains to be seen whether the Duster's 1.8-liter strong-hybrid petrol engine, which produces 160 hp, 172 Nm of torque, and is paired with an e-CVT gearbox, will be offered in the Tekton SUV.

The Nissan Tekton's design is inspired by the company's largest SUV, the Patrol. Its front end features C-Type signature DRLs that cover the SUV's horizontal headlights. A large Nissan logo is featured on the rear grille, and two chrome strips running parallel to the DRLs further enhance the light bar's prominence.

The Tekton shares its CMF-B platform with the upcoming Renault Duster. The company has not yet revealed any details about the Nissan Tekton's interior. However, this C-segment SUV from Nissan coming to India is expected to feature a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital driver display.

It is also expected to feature features like a 360-degree camera, multiple driver modes, rear AC vents, and an automatic climate control system.

According to media reports, the Nissan Tekton will be powered by a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This engine produces 154 hp and 250 Nm of torque. This Nissan Tekton, which will compete with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, is expected to be launched in India by mid-2026.
