While the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the Somnath Temple were going on, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the one conducting Amrit Mahotsav. Modi conducted Mahapuja and then laid the spire of the temple with water from 11 sacred sites. Prime Minister Narendra Modi pointed out how the post-independence government had ignored the symbols of India’s honor, and he mentioned Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who served as India’s first prime minister.

The renovation of the Somnath Temple was not the only instance of such an attitude. Mentioning the Pokhran nuclear tests conducted by India, Prime Minister Modi pointed out that no other nation will be able to make India bend.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the Amrit Mahotsav celebrations on Monday to mark the 75th anniversary of the reconstruction of the Somnath Temple. He said that invaders like Mahmud Ghaznavi, Muhammad Tughlaq, and Alauddin Khilji attacked the symbols of the nation's self-respect.

They forgot that these were divine centers of our faith. The world cherished these symbols of national pride. However, after India's independence, they were neglected for political reasons. The restoration of the Somnath Temple was also not untouched by this. However, it was rebuilt 75 years ago due to the efforts of the first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and Deputy Prime Minister, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The reconstruction of the Somnath Temple erased a centuries-old stigma. Modi said that he was fortunate to have the opportunity to restore all the pilgrimage sites. The forces that neglect the symbols of the nation's self-respect still exist. Even when the Ram Temple was built after 500 years of struggle, it was opposed. Recalling the nuclear test conducted in Pokhran, Rajasthan, on May 11, the Prime Minister said that even then, world powers continued to oppose India.

Attempts were made to close all avenues by creating an economic crisis. However, India was led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee. No one could subdue us. The Prime Minister earlier landed at the Air Force helipad in Somnath and conducted a road show to the temple complex. Upon arriving, the Prime Minister first garlanded the statue of Sardar Patel.

It was due to Sardar Patel's efforts that the Somnath Temple was rebuilt after independence. A millennium has passed since the first attack on the temple. In Modi's presence, the temple's pinnacle of water was anointed with water from 11 holy places. Amid chants of Vedic mantras, Prime Minister Modi operated the pinnacle of the temple by remotely controlling the pinnacle of water from a 90-meter-high crane.

Prior to this, Modi performed the Mahapuja of Somnath Mahadev and performed the Jalabhishek. During the ceremony, the Air Force's Suryakiran team performed an air show with six Hawk MK-132 aircraft. The pilots won the hearts of the people present by forming a heart shape over the tricolor and the temple in the sky.
