Mahindra will introduce the CNG version of the XUV 3XO subcompact SUV by October 15. There were some suggestions about the development of the XUV 3XO CNG, and recently the brand released a teaser regarding it. It will be the fourth engine type for the XUV 3XO, alongside the petrol, diesel, and electric ones.

The launch of the XUV 3XO took place in 2024. The manufacturer also launched new trim levels such as REVX and REVX Edge to cater to the younger generation who desire a sporty look. Now, due to increasing petrol prices, Mahindra seems to be developing a CNG kit from the factory itself. This will not only provide new options to customers but also help Mahindra meet the upcoming CAFE 3 regulations.

Mahindra currently offers the XUV 3XO with a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo-petrol MPFI engine, a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo-petrol mStallion-series engine, and a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel. If a CNG version is launched, it is expected to be based on the turbocharged MPFI engine. It produces 111 hp and 200 Nm of torque and is available with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Mahindra may make changes to the suspension, ECU tuning, and other minor components to ensure the vehicle functions properly with the CNG setup. This SUV will compete with the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet. However, Mahindra has not officially revealed what it will launch on October 15.
