The Indian Navy said on Wednesday that it will keep improving its activities related to maritime security and surveillance using its ships and planes. Naval task forces stationed in the region have inspected several fishing boats and other vessels throughout the last week.

Following cases of assaults on merchant boats, such as the drone targeting of MV Chem Pluto 220 nautical miles off the coast of Porbandar last month, the Navy has increased maritime monitoring.
