Disturbing news emerges from the Rajarajeshwari Nagar of Bengaluru. According to reports, a business person reportedly committed suicide at the residence of the popular Kannada film actress Krishi Thapanda.
This happened at around 8:30 PM yesterday. According to the police, the person who committed suicide was named Vaishakh and was staying at the residence of the actress Krishi Thapanda since a week. The actress was not in her house at that time since she had gone to Yelahanka on some work commitments. There was no suicide note found. The body has been sent for a post-mortem at Victoria Hospital.
From the initial investigations done, it appears that Vaishakh was suffering from severe depression and was under medication. He was going through many family problems and due to family disputes, he was away from his wife for almost a month now.
Vaishakh's name had also recently surfaced in a high-profile extortion and intimidation case, placing him on the police's radar. To understand the context: in February of this year, a threatening letter was sent via courier to a prominent businessman and lawyer, Arvind Reddy. The letter demanded a sum of ₹6 to ₹7 crore and insisted on an apology.
The HAL police had arrested Vaishakh while investigating this case. It was alleged that he sent the threatening letter due to a dispute involving a woman. However, he was subsequently released. Subsequently, on February 6, the Karnataka High Court stayed further investigation against Vaishakh. Prior to this, the police had taken him into custody and interrogated him for five days.
