Yamaha recently introduced the FZ Blue Flex, a flex-fuel variant of the FZ motorcycle that can operate on ethanol blends ranging from E20 to E85. With the introduction of the new product, Yamaha enters into the flex-fuel segment. Prior to this, Suzuki Kixxer SF 250 FFV and Hero Splendor and HF Deluxe had entered this category.

The FZ Blue Flex features an identical 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine available on all FZ models. It delivers 11.7 hp at 7,250 rpm and 12.8 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. These figures are 0.7 hp and 0.5 Nm less torque, respectively, when compared to the standard FZ.

FZ Blue Flex features an identical LED headlight that comes as a part of the FZ Rave that was introduced towards the end of last year. Moreover, FZ Blue Flex also gets an identical fuel tank, fake air vent, and single seat from the FZ Rave. The rest of the specifications remain the same.

The FZ Blue Flex is available in just one color option, Metallic Black. Initially, it will be sold in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. It is priced at ₹1.24 lakh (ex-showroom). This price puts it roughly in the middle of the overall FZ lineup of nine models.

The FZ Blue Flex features front and rear disc brakes that work in conjunction with a Bosch anti-locking braking system (ABS). It retains the LCD instrument cluster, which includes a digital speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and more. Key features include a built-in side stand engine cut-off switch, a 140mm-wide rear radial tire, and an engine cowl.
