Toyota's 2027 Fortuner has reportedly been photographed during another round of testing in Thailand. Although the vehicle was heavily camouflaged, the pictures capture a front three-quarter view of it, showing off its grill, lights, and design.
The first thing that becomes apparent from the pictures is its vertical front grille area. There is a part of the camouflage where a large central grill is visible with a mesh design along with two vertical grills on both sides of it. Above it, there is an almost horizontal alignment of the upper grill and the headlights of the 2027 Toyota Fortuner.
Unfortunately, owing to the poor quality of the picture and the camouflage, the design is quite hard to understand. In addition to this, the horizontal lines are also visible near the number plate on the exposed bumper.
The latest pictures give a good view of the profile of the SUV. This includes the elevated hood, vertical cabin, improved ground clearance while retaining the same old look of the Fortuner. The pronounced wheel arches, side steps, and multi-spoke alloy wheels are clearly visible, while the doors, mirrors, and rear quarter panels are covered.
The rear side windows and the rising lower window line are also clearly visible, but the cover obscures the rear pillar design.
The new Fortuner is expected to feature a modern dashboard, a large touchscreen infotainment screen, digital meter, and new connectivity features, similar to the Hilux. The new Fortuner is expected to be powered by a 2.8-liter diesel engine in India. Additionally, it is expected to feature ADAS sensors and a panoramic sunroof in the front.
Toyota has already launched the Hilux in India. The next-gen Fortuner will be based on the same platform and is expected to have a largely similar design. The new Fortuner is expected to be launched in 2027. However, before that, Toyota may launch the updated Innova Hycross in December this year.
