Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 15: In a significant feat for Indian rail infrastructure, Translite Scaffolding contributed critical engineered systems to enable the successful launch of the longest open-web steel girder rail flyover in Maharashtra. Executed by TATA Projects Ltd. under the DFCCIL’s JNPT–Nilje freight corridor, the project involved an innovative radial-slew launch across operational railway lines — a first-of-its-kind method in India.
While Translite did not manufacture or erect the primary open-web steel girder, its specialized systems formed the backbone of this complex launch. The company was responsible for designing and supplying custom high-precision launching beams, engineered to handle extreme loads with optimized camber control for perfect longitudinal alignment. In addition, precision-machined trussel heads were developed to accommodate differential loading during incremental launching while minimizing point stress and structural deflection.
