Sindhu Trade Links Acquires Controlling Stakes in Advent Coal, Sainik Mining for ₹922.5 Crore

Advent Coal Resources holds effectively 100% economic interest in a coal project in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, with an estimated coal resource of 620 million tonnes. The project also includes infrastructure connecting the mine through a 130-km logistics corridor to a deep-sea port and a proposed industrial cluster.

Meanwhile, Sainik Mining and Allied Services operates in the mining services segment, with capabilities spanning Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) contracts, overburden removal, coal extraction and transportation.

According to the company’s earlier stock-exchange disclosure, the Advent Coal Resources transaction was structured through a share-swap mechanism involving preferential issuance of STLL equity shares, while the SMASL transaction involved preferential issuance of compulsorily convertible preference shares (CCPS). The company had also disclosed that both transactions were related-party transactions and were undertaken on an arm’s-length basis.

The acquisitions expand Sindhu Trade Links’ exposure across coal mining, mining services, logistics and associated infrastructure, while adding an international coal asset to its portfolio.
