CM Fadnavis to Attend Grand Shivotsav on June 8

A grand Shivotsav, Bhajan-Kirtan festival, and thanksgiving ceremony will be held on June 8, 2026, at the Shri Pimpleshwar Mahadev Temple premises to celebrate the historic decision.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetratai Pawar, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Industries Minister Uday Samant, and several senior leaders and dignitaries are expected to attend the event and offer prayers at the temple.

Success After a Two-Decade Struggle

Speaking on the occasion, Ravindra Chavan said that the issue had been pursued for nearly 20 years through gram sabhas, government meetings, legal processes, and public movements.

Efforts to resolve the matter had continued over the years, and to strengthen the movement, the Bharatiya Janata Party had also called for a Dombivli bandh on August 20, 2012. After years of sustained efforts, the process of transferring ownership of the land to the temple trust has finally moved forward.

Chavan described the development as a proud moment for thousands of devotees, villagers, and residents of Dombivli.

A Victory for Devotees’ Faith

Calling Pimpleshwar Temple a major centre of faith for Shiva devotees, Chavan said continuous efforts were made to ensure that the temple received its rightful land and that better facilities could be made available for devotees.

He said the Shivotsav is being organised as an expression of gratitude and to pray for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of society.

The June 8 celebrations will include bhajans, kirtans, religious rituals, collective prayers, and large participation from devotees. Ravindra Chavan has appealed to residents and devotees from Dombivli and nearby areas to attend the event and be part of the historic occasion.
