Proven Through Rigour: How Apollo Established The Capability
Working in close partnership with the Indian Navy’s professional teams, AMS took the SDD from concept to a fully proven, deliverable system.
The device has been engineered to stringent international fuze-safety design philosophies and has been subjected to an exhaustive validation, including:
- Design conforming to globally accepted fuze safety and arming principles, with independent, redundant safety interlocks and out-of-line safety architecture;
- Comprehensive environmental qualification – mechanical shock, vibration, temperature extremes, humidity and marine environmental stress screening;
- Electromagnetic compatibility and interference testing appropriate to shipborne and underwater weapon environments;
- Extensive functional, endurance and safety-margin testing, followed by joint evaluation and acceptance trials with the Indian Navy.
Through this journey, AMS worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the Indian Navy to convert a clearly articulated operational problem statement into a certified, production-ready indigenous solution, exemplifying the collaborative industry–Navy model championed under the Swavalamban framework.
