According to Akash Ambani, a ‘content-commerce’ model has been developed for JioHotstar, providing users with an integrated marketplace where they can purchase things while consuming content without having to exit the app; for instance, ordering food through Swiggy while streaming IPL matches.
He noted that JioHotstar's live-streaming capabilities are setting global benchmarks. The live stream of the T20 World Cup final on JioHotstar was watched by 72.5 million users, setting a world record. Additionally, Akash mentioned that Hotstar attracted approximately 700 million viewers during the recently concluded IPL season.
Reliance has also maintained its dominance in the television entertainment sector. He stated that JioStar's viewership share stood at 34.7 percent. The company's network reaches 389 million viewers daily across various languages and genres.

Together with Jio Studios and Network18, it constitutes the country's largest media ecosystem. Reliance's combined media business generated revenue of ₹34,917 crore in the last financial year. During this period, the company's EBITDA stood at ₹5,842 crore, and net profit was ₹3,434 crore.
