RCB clinched the IPL crown on Sunday when they defeated the defending champions, Gujarat Titans, by 5 wickets in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Virat Kohli was the hero for RCB once again in the final game as he remained unbeaten at 75 from just 42 balls to help the team secure two consecutive titles. Kohli played one of his fastest half-centuries in the final match against Gujarat Titans in order to win the title for his team. The left-handed batsman managed to register 50 runs from just 25 balls in the final match. With this, Kohli also became the joint-second fastest scorer of 50 runs in the finals of the IPL. Kohli hammered nine fours and three maximums in his 75-run innings. Virat's performance was impressive throughout the season and he was RCB's highest run-scorer in IPL 2026.

Kohli scored 675 runs in 16 matches this season at a strike rate of 165. He became the first batsman in IPL history to score more than 600 runs in four consecutive seasons. Virat was also named the Man of the Match for his strong performance. Virat also became the second-oldest player to win the Man of the Match award in an IPL final. He won this award at the age of 37 years and 207 days.

Virat Kohli scored a total of 82 runs against Gujarat Titans fast bowler Kagiso Rabada in IPL 2026, which is the most runs scored by any batsman against a single bowler in a single IPL season. In the final, Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer added 62 runs for the first wicket in just 27 balls. Kohli's explosive batting helped RCB reach 50 in just 3.3 overs, the fastest team half-century in an IPL final.

In the final, RCB achieved the target of 156 runs set by Gujarat Titans in just 18 overs, losing 5 wickets. Kohli hit a memorable six off the last ball of the 18th over against Arshad Khan, making RCB the champions for the second time. RCB became only the third team to defend their IPL title. Before RCB, only Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians had achieved this feat.
