The 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season is set to be played between SRH and RR. The captain and fast bowler for SRH, Pat Cummins, is available and will be playing in this match which will take place at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium (SMS), Jaipur.
Cummins is fit and ready for this match. This will be Pat Cummins' first match in IPL 2026. The Australian Test captain passed the fitness test on Friday and has now confirmed that he will take the field against Rajasthan Royals. "Long wait, looking forward to returning tomorrow (Saturday)," Cummins wrote in a post on his social media account, Instagram.
Cummins visited India before the start of IPL 2026, but did not participate in the match due to injury. The 32-year-old returned to Australia for back scans immediately after SRH's thrilling win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 2. The Australian fast bowler has not played a single match since the Ashes series against England on home soil. He also missed the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2026, where Australia was eliminated in the group stage for the first time.
In Cummins' absence, Sunrisers Hyderabad has constantly changed their fast bowling attack. After trying Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat in the initial matches, SRH included Praful Hinge and Shakib Hussain in the playing XI. Hinge and Shakib took four wickets each in their debut match against Rajasthan Royals.
In the absence of Pat Cummins, Ishan Kishan is captaining SRH. In IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad has won four out of seven matches played so far, while the team has lost three. SRH won their last match against Delhi Capitals by 47 runs.
