A Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Goa was diverted to Bengaluru early on Tuesday due to "poor visibility" at Manohar International Airport (MIA). An official gave this information.

An MIA official said that the Qatar Airways flight (QR522) could not get permission to land at Manohar International Airport in Mopa, North Goa at 1.50 pm due to poor visibility.
The official said that the plane had come from Doha. The plane flew over MIA for 15-20 minutes, then it was sent to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a 'red alert' on Tuesday, predicting severe to very heavy rainfall in certain areas and extremely heavy rains in others, as well as strong winds in the North and South Goa districts.
